In between showbiz commitments and his various endorsements, Aga Muhlach is a devoted husband and father to twins Atasha and Andres. The dedeicated family man shares that he enjoys doing a lot of domestic things when he’s away from the limelight. “I love the process of building houses. I like fixing the house all the time, rearranging furniture, and buying stuff for the house. Not naman sobra but just right. I’m not really into the modern-looking houses, gusto ko yung Pinoy. I like using old bricks and old furniture,” he shares.

The 39-year-old actor has been blissfully married to Charlene Gonzales for the past eight years. Aga says that when he got hitched, he made sure that his work would never interfere with his marriage. “With our partnership, what you see is what you get. We pray all the time. We have a long way to go. Our dream is to stay together forever. Of the 24 hours in a day, we never run out of things to talk about and we are so blessed with our time. It’s just fortunate for us that I’m just doing one picture in a year and have one TV show. Of course we get these offers and we need to work, but at the end of the day, I still have to help my wife and have a nice family. And I have that already so I’m not going to let that go to waste. I’m not saying that family is my first priority or I put that over work. Work is important. But I’m just lucky because God is good, even now that I have a family, mas dumami pa yung blessings ko,” he admits.

Aga says their seven-year-old twins are more than enough for them to handle in the household right now. “The first time, we just wanted a boy or a girl. Biglang lumabas boy and girl. So baka naman next time tatlo na yan. We talk about it (having another child). It’s going to happen although we really haven’t planned it yet kasi right now it’s just perfect, it’s just four of us,” he says.

The couple, who are based in Ayala Alabang, but also own properties in Batangas and Las Vegas, prefer to spend time out of the city. “If we’re not here naman in Manila, we’re in Vegas. We have a little place there in Vegas that we bought together. In Batangas, it’s not like we’re there all the time because the kids go to school. Sometimes I’m there, then she (Charlene) follows there and then pagdating ng weekend the kids follow there. Like I was there last week, the whole week. But umuuwi ako everyday,” he explains.

Although rumored to be being lured into the political arena, Aga says he will never run for office. “Ilang beses ko ng sinabi yun. Never, never. Hanggang sa pagkamatay ko na yun hindi ako papasok sa pulitika. May mga nagsasabi-sabi sa akin, alam naman yata nila na wala akong balak. At saka yung mga totoong nasa pelikula, nararamdaman naman nila kung yung tao may intensiyon or may balak ‘di ba? Ako wala akong balak. Gusto ko lang maging maayos lahat ng umupo,” he confides.

Aga also hopes to find time to do his old sport, wakeboarding. “I’ve obviously enjoyed water sports and I got into wakeboarding. I got into it sobra nung 2007 but then my mom passed away that year also so medyo nahinto ako. The whole of 2008, I did not wakeboard. But hopefully this summer, ma-start ako, but not really competitive. It’s not my line of work naman so for fun lang talaga,” he says.
