Ruffa Gutierrez apologized to John Lloyd Cruz’s fans and pleaded with them not to get angry with her because of the rumors linking her romantically to the actor. Last June 8 on TV Patrol, Ruffa also assured fans that she won’t be trying to “steal” their idol away from them. “Sa lahat ng fans ni John Lloyd talagang humihingi rin ako ng pasensiya sa inyo,” she said. “Sana huwag kayong magalit sa akin. John Lloyd and I are just friends, alam ko mayroon kayong kanya-kanyang paborito para sa kanya. Just bear in mind na hindi ko aagawin ang mga idolo n’yo.” Just like in her previous interviews, the actress clarified that Lloydy has nothing to do with her recent argument with mom Annabelle Rama. Rumors were the mother-daughter rift was caused by Ruffa’s alleged involvement with Lloydy, something which Annabelle disapproved of. “Talagang hiyang-hiya ako sa kanya (John Lloyd),” explained Ruffa. “I really apologize kasi wala talaga siyang kinalaman dito. This is a problem between my mom and I. Kung anuman ‘yung differences namin, sa amin na lang ‘yon [and] I’d like to settle it privately.” Ruffa also stressed that her involvement with Lloydy is nothing at all romantic. “Ang masasabi ko lang JL (John Lloyd) is a friend and I respect him not only as an actor but as a person as well. And hopefully with everything that is going on right now, hindi masira ‘yung friendship namin. Right now we’re friends, hanggang dun lang muna. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future.”
