Anne Curtis shares stories from her European vacation

Last June 27 for the Screentriga of Entertainment Live, Anne Curtis shared some personal anecdotes behind the photos of her recent grand vacation in Europe. She first showed a photo of the Bocca della Verita (Mouth of Truth) at the Church of Sta. Maria, where she replicated Audrey Hepburn’s pose from the movie Roman Holiday. “Super idol ko si Audrey to the point na meron akong shrine niya sa bahay. So while we were in Rome, alam kong pupunta kami sa Mouth of Truth so talagang ginaya ko pati yung hair niya, kinarir ko talaga all by myself, lahat! Pati yung feeling na habang naglalakad, sabi ko tumapak na dito si Audrey Hepburn,” she related.

Up next was her exhilarating bridge-jumping experience in Barcelona. Anne revealed how anyone who would have heard her screaming at the top of her lungs then would no longer think of her as prim and proper. But why did she do it anyway? “Wala, just for the fun of it, to do something that’s out of my comfort zone. Yun yung other side ko, may daredevil side din ako and it was on my bucket list to do something like that. Grabe siya! Yung nasa baba ng bridge maliit na stream tapos trees mga ganon. Ang pinakanakakatakot for me ay yung ikaw ang magrerelease ng sarili mo sa bridge, and at your count, patalikod kang mahuhulog. As in yung five seconds na freefalling ako, feeling ko mamamatay talaga ako,” she exclaimed.

Anne included a snapshot from an old family vacation, one that showed Anne with her mom and siblings looking as if they came straight from the Victorian era—a historic period that the 24-year-old actress is very fond of to the point that she even had her dream house designed that way. “That was taken in one of our vacations in the Gold Coast (Queensland, Australia). Nag-decide kami to dress up and just have a family portrait. Kasi meron din ako when I was four years old kasama yung mommy at daddy ko (who are now separated) sa Universal Studios naman,” she happily recalled.

Then Entertainment Live host Mariel Rodriguez showed photos of Derek Ramsay, Zanjoe Marudo, Luis Manzano, and Sam Milby—men who were all romantically linked to Anne—and asked her to choose among them her most likely groom in the future. To which she wryly replied, “Eh isa lang ang single diyan, madaya! Paano kung piliin ko si Zanjoe ano gagawin mo? Ha-ha-ha! Ang hirap!” But when she couldn’t evade the question anymore, she explained that Sam would have been the guy she wanted to end up with. “Siyempre si Sam. Kasi siyempre siya yung last ko. He was the one na, yung last ko, and akala naminbaka pwede. But you know siyempre [wala na kami ngayon].”

Since Anne didn’t want to talk about Sam or the new guy being linked to her (the brother of Derek Ramsay’s ex-girlfriend Solenn Heusaff who is not based in the Philippines), Mariel simply reminded Anne of her pact with Luis—that they would marry each other if she is still single at the age of 30. “Yes meron kaming ganong pact pero yun, we’ll see what happens. I mean, obviously, meron siyang significant person (Angel Locsin) and you never know what will happen with me,” Anne beamed.
