Megan Young reunites with Zanjoe Marudo in ‘The Wedding’
by Rachelle Siazon | August 11, 2009 8:41 AM |

She revealed that she is getting along well with The Wedding cast, particularly Zanjoe whom she worked with in Kokey two years ago. “Noon naiilang ako sa kanya because I was new then. Pero now that we’ve worked again okay na. I met Derek (Ramsay) na rin nung last taping day namin. And Anne (Curtis) is really nice. She’s so pretty. Sa amin kasi ng mga friends ko, lagi namin sinasabi na isa siya sa pinakamaganda sa showbiz.” Though she will only be in The Wedding for a number of weeks, Megan is still grateful for the chance to be part of a teleserye again. “It’s kind of a boost for me dahil kahit papaano makikita ako sa primetime,” she cheerfully added.

At 20-years old, Megan can easily pull off roles which are mature for her age. She takes pride in her first major appearance in Maalaala Mo Kaya where she played as a campus beauty queen who has secret feelings for her best friend played by Joross Gamboa. “It was a really light story about unrequited love pero ang maganda dun madami ang makaka-relate. Siyempre I still consider myself starting out in showbiz so it’s a privilege (to be in ABS-CBN’s top drama anthology). But hopefully in the future, kapag mas nag-improve pa ako as an artist, babalik ako for a more challenging role,” she related.

Megan admitted that she enjoys playing the villainess than the victim because her well of her lack of a “life-altering” experience. ”I consider my life perfect but I’m in a good place right now. My family’s together. Wala ako problema masyado. So ‘pag may eksena na ako yung kawawa, I have to make it up. E kapag kontrabida ka isipin mo lang kaaway mo may motivation ka na. Palaban kasi ako in real life lalo na kung alam kong naagrabyado ako,” she revealed.

Given the chance though, she would love to work with John Lloyd Cruz again or Dawn Zulueta who happens to be one of her idols. “Why not! Who wouldn’t want to work with John Lloyd? But I want to work with so many people like Dawn Zulueta. First time ko siyang nakilala nung bago pa lang ako and people were saying that I resemble her in a way. But then I saw her movie in Cinema One with Richard Gomez. I can’t remember what the title was but it was so beautiful,” she beamed.
