A leaner Jay-R Siaboc appeared at the story conference of the next Agimat: Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Sr., featuring Pepeng Agimat to be portrayed by Jolo Revilla. Jay-R will play sidekick to Pepeng Agimat. He shared that after two months, he lost 30 lbs through a strict diet and by boxing. “Na-realize ko dahil wala na akong trabaho. Kailangan din talaga,” he confessed. “Kahit sino naman siguro hindi mo naman ibebenta ‘yung produkto mo kung pangit tingnan. So ako din nakikita ko ‘yung sarili sa TV na hindi na maganda talaga.” He even expressed that he is open to the idea of going sexy. “Ako naman kung ano ang ibibigay na trabaho, gagawin ko basta kaya ko.”

The former Pinoy Dream Academy runner-up said that he is busy working on his next album and doing out-of-town shows. “Minsan mga charity [engagements] para hindi lang mawala ang pagkanta ko,” he added.

Jay-R also revealed to ABS-CBN.com that he and former fellow PDA scholar Irish Fullerton are no longer together but have remained friends. “Matagal na [kaming wala]. Siyempre hindi na katulad ng dati na close na close talaga,” he said, and added that they seldom see each other since Irish is also busy. He admitted that their breakup was also one of the factors why he decided to lose weight. “Gusto ko talagang magpapayat [dahil] wala akong love life at least magkaroon ako ng trabaho.
