For the past 15 years, Aga Muhlach has been very active in helping less-fortunate children feel the spirit of gift-giving and sharing in his yearly Christmas campaign MaAga ang Pasko. He happily recalled how the simple charitable act he did years ago has grown into a very successful partnership with Jollibee. “I remember 15 years ago, it was just me and my driver. We went to a charity home and we dropped our donations there, and now I'm just so happy to see that the effort has really gone far.”
Every year, Aga aims to have new ideas and make the campaign bigger than the previous year’s to be able to reach more Filipino children. “For this Christmas, pupuntahan namin lahat ng eskwelahan na nasalanta ng bagyo but next year will be really bigger. I really pray for it para mas maraming matulungan na mga nangangailangan. Hindi lang Pasko kundi buong taon kung pagpapalain tayo ng Panginoon na mabigay sa ating lahat 'yun so humihingi ako ng suporta kaibigan at kakilala ko kung pwede niyo akong matulungan para makaikot tayo sa buong Pilipinas.
“This is very special to me—itong MaAga ang Pasko kasi it's something different. Every week lalabas kami at babalikan lahat namin 'yung mga nasalanta giving them a different spirit naman, something more special, hindi lang dun sa mga nakakatanda, most especially sa mga bata to give them their toys for Christmas and things they need para sa schooling nila, mga libro nila and mga notebooks etc.”
Aga also lets his children Atasha and Andres get involved with the charity. “[Our vacation] is the same thing as last year, out of the country with Charlene (Gonzales) and the kids, but before that, 'yung gift-giving na ginagawa namin 'pag Pasko sinasama ko sila. I'm really excited of the caravan that we're going to do, twice a week we'll go around sa mga barangays, and sa mga eskwelahan.”
