From playing collegiate basketball to modeling then acting, Xian Lim is about to try to new field. He shared in an interview with ABS-CBN.com that he plans take up a course in music. “I’m planning to go back to school. Mag-iiba na ako ng course. Hindi ko na gusto ‘yung Management. I want to take up music, baka sa UP Conservatory of Music. I know how to play the piano talaga. Bata pa ako marunong na ako mag-piano. My mom is a piano teacher kasi. Maybe ngayong hindi nag-work out ‘yung basketball, I can do music sabay sa acting.” When asked if his fans can expect to see him soon singing on TV, Xian answered with a laugh, “Singing? Malapit na, ha ha ha! Abangan niyo ako sa ASAP.”

While he works on his music, the 20-year old is gearing up for the release of his very first independent film Two Funerals directed by Gil Portes which will be part of the upcoming Cinemalaya Film Festival. “Ang dami naming napuntahang locations, from Lucban sa Quezon, then sa Bitukang Manok sa Bicol, tapos change set sa Pangasinan. Madugo ‘yung shooting namin. But it was all worth it. I feel that this is going to be a good movie,” he shared.

Xian admitted that he felt scared when he was first offered the lead role in Two Funerals, but in the end he saw the indie movie as an opportunity to grow more as an actor. “Kinabahan ako kasi siyempre may pressure for me to give my best. Pero mas na-excite ako kasi I’ll be handled by Direk Gil na napakagaling. I know I will learn a lot from him and sa mga co-actors ko, like si Ms. Tessie Tomas, Mon Confiado, Epy Quizon. Ang dami kong natutunan sa kanila. Feeling ko nag-grow talaga ako as an actor.”

He was also recently chosen to be a part of the next chapter of the Agimat: Ang mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla series entitled Elias Paniki featuring Jake Cuenca in the title role. Xian shared his excitement over this new TV project where he will get to learn fight scenes as required by his role. “Excited ako kasi may kasamang training sa fight scene itong project. For sure magagamit ko ‘yun for other future projects. Nung maliit ako nag-taekwondo naman ako, plus I played basketball. Siguro ‘yun na lang ang magiging background ko sa mga matitinding physical scenes.”
