Baron finally leaves for the Venice Film Festival

Baron Geisler is very thankful to Director Johnny Manahan for giving him a chance to attend the Venice Film Festival, which will screen his Cinemalaya film Jay. The controversial actor, also tagged as Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition’s Wild Child, wowed audiences with his portrayal of a gay TV producer in the indie film. He bagged the Best Actor Award and the movie took home the Best Full-length Feature Film trophy.

Baron, who left for Venice with Jay director Francis Xavier Pasion, almost didn’t make it to the event because of financial difficulties. However Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan, Baron’s manager, came to the rescue and offered the actor assistance. Mr.M believes in Baron’s talent and it would be unthinkable for the young man not to attend the festival.

The Venice Film Festival is one of the oldest and prestigious film festivals in the world.Founded by Count Guiseppe Volpi di Misurata in 1932 as the "Esposizioned Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica", the festival hassince taken place every year in late August or early September on theisland of the Lido, Venice, Italy.Opening this year's festival is the world premiere of the Coen brothers Burn After Reading, starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
