Valerie Concepcion says no to commitment for now

Aside from Wowowee, Valerie Concepcion is also part of the new gag show Banana Split where she stars with other sexy gals. With her schedule filled with work, Valerie told ABS-CBN.com that she may not have the time for a serious commitment for now. However, the TV host-actress is open to going out on dates if she luckily gets a day off. She has been seeing Magnolia basketball team’s star player Dondon Hontiveros for two years now, but they are yet to make their relationship official.

“Okay naman. We still go out kapag may chance na lang like twice a month. Ganun na kadalang. Busy na rin kasi ako. Pero we still go out. Before I went to Canada (for a series of Wowowee shows) we saw each other and he gave me a jacket na gamitin ko daw every time I travel,” she shared. Valerie said that Dondon knows and respects her choice of prioritizing her career at the moment and he doesn’t want to rush their relationship.

When asked about her Fil-Australian businessman admirer named Paul, Valerie showed ABS-CBN.com the green Louis Vuitton bag that the guy gave her as a gift. “Pinadala niya tapos nakalagay sa envelope [isang note saying,] ‘A little something for your trip to Canada.’ Dinala ko sa Canada, ‘yun ang pabaon niya sa akin. Na-surprise nga ako.” The 34-year-old businessman first saw Valerie on Wowowee over TFC and the two had the chance to meet when he came over to Manila a couple of months ago. Paul would regularly send flowers to her either to the studio or to her house, but Valerie finds it hard to return the gesture.

“Sinabi niya na he likes me and liligawan niya ako pero sabi ko, ‘Don’t,’ kasi hindi naman niya ako gaano kilala. Nakikita lang niya ako sa TV. I don’t know him that well so maganda na friends na lang kami. He also knows that I’m dating this basketball player. Siguro naman naiintindihan rin niya na hindi ko naman siya boyfriend so he doesn’t have a hold on me,” Valerie explained.

Aside from Dondon and Paul, Valerie said that she is also open to seeing other guys, but that her busy schedule gets in the way. “Libre naman ako kapag may free time plus I don’t have a boyfriend. May mga gusto ring makipag-dinner kaso ayoko muna ng sakit ng ulo (laughs). Dalawang guys na nga lang nahihirapan na ako [na makipagkita sa kanila] paano pa kapag marami.”

Catch Valerie and her brand of comedy in Banana Split beginning this October.
