by Rachelle Siazon | March 11, 2013 3:56 AM |

Angel Locsin couldn’t help but feel emotional when she received her Best Actress award during the PMPC Star Awards for Movies held at the AFP theater last night, March 10. The 27-year-old actress bested showbiz icons such as Nora Aunor (Thy Womb), Vilma Santos (The Healing), and Gina Alajar (Mater Dolorosa) as well as fellow Kapamilya actresses Angelica Panganiban (One hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko kapag hindi ako umaarte. Ganon ko kamahal ang More Try), Jodi Sta. Maria (Migrante) and Bea Alonzo (The Mistress) in the said category. “
“Pasensya na po nate-tense talaga ako. Hindi ko talaga inaasahan. Never in my wildest dreams na mahahanay ang pangalan kina Vilma Santos, Nora Aunor, Gina Alajar… Halos lahat sila [na nominees for Best Actress] magagaling. Thank you po sa tiwala,” she humbly stated.

Angel also expressed her gratitude to her Star Cinema family for giving her the opportunity to showcase her talent in One More Try, which is one of its Metro Manila Film Fest entries last December. To my manager Manay Ethel thank you po.”

She maintained that to be given such recognition is truly a big boost to her confidence as an artist. Honestly, acting.”
