Albert Martinez finally talks about his wife Liezel's condition
by Bernie Franco | December 01, 2008 12:10 AM |

Actor Albert Martinez finally broke his silence about his wife Liezel Martinez’ illness at the recent Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. When asked about any development on Liezel's condition, he answered, "She's okay. We're okay, we’re very good." It was Albert's first time to talk openly about the current status of his wife’s battle with cancer. When news broke out that the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of months ago, the Martinez family and their close friends were very careful not to say anything to the media about Liezel. The only relative who was vocal about it was Niño Muhlach, Liezel’s cousin, but no one close to them confirmed the former child actor’s statement.

From his statements, Albert’s faith in God has become stronger and was able to address publicly his family's battle. "If God's with you, walang problema ang hindi mo kayang lusutan. Ganoon kadali 'yun, eh. That's how you look at life," Albert said. He explained that God is the source of his family's courage and hope. And with their faith, they are keeping their spirits high and will eventually overcome the trial. "Right now, kung ano man ang pinagdadaanan namin, hey, God's with us, so we're okay.

Meanwhile, it was reported that veteran actress Amalia Fuentes, Liezl's mom, expressed her gratitude to Albert for staying strong for the family and for taking good care of her daughter. Albert only gave a short message to his mother-in-law in return. "God is good," the actor said with a smile.
