Two of the country’s most admired celebrities—Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion—are all set to captivate viewers with their team-up next year. “Yes, we’re going to start taping in January. I don’t know if we can disclose already the soap, but yes we’re doing something in January. Hopefully mauna yung movie before ipalabas yung soap,” Piolo said in an interview before he left for the States.

As it happens, KC had been very vocal before about wanting to work with the country’s ultimate heartthrob just like her mom Sharon Cuneta. “I would like to work with Piolo Pascual. I know he’s a great actor and I know I’ll learn a lot from him. And he’s also a good friend so I know we’ll be comfortable with each other if we’ll be working together,” she shared in an with ABS-CBN.com. Piolo, in turn, also feels honored that he will be paired up with the 23-year-old actress in her first ever teleserye. “I am looking forward to it kasi it’s her first soap. Maganda naman yung soap na gagawin namin. Mayroon ng storya at may ending na rin. I am excited to start working on it kasi masipag na tao ‘yang si Kristina (KC’s real name) eh. Alam ko’ng mag-eenjoy siya,” he enthused.

Whether their first project will be the remake of the hit Korean series Lovers in Paris still remains to be seen. All Piolo could confirm is that it’s going to be something very different from what he did with Angel Locsin. “It’s going to be a mixture of everything. May drama, may comedy, may action pero nothing serious like Lobo.”

As it is, it’s too early to talk about the teleserye since his movie with Angel has yet to be shown in local theatres and KC is still doing a Valentine’s film with Richard Gutierrez. “But of course in January ipapalabas muna yung movie namin ni Angel. And then come January or March ipapalabas naman yung independent movie ko, yung Manila,” he added.
