After eight blissful years of marriage, power couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales have a stronger bond that defies the fate of most high-profile celebrity couples. “Wala naman kaming sikreto. I think what I’ve always been saying that it’s communication. Communication is the most important blessing in a relationship. Believe it or not, pagkagising namin sa umaga ni Aga, palagi kaming nag-uusap. Before we sleep and throughout the day, we always talk. It sounds make believe pero yan talaga eh. We are true to the situation and pagkatapos ng trabaho, we go home to one another and we’re excited to share our experiences or stories with one another,” she shared during the Pond’s Age Miracle event held last January 27 at the Manila Peninsula, Makati where both Charlene and Aga we’re launched as Pond’s Age Miracle’s newest endorsers.
The former beauty queen also shared that she has nothing to hide when it comes to her relationship with Aga, “In my case, it was important that my partner is equally ready for the commitment kasi bukod sa love and the respect, it’s a commitment and a bond that you have with your partner. Kung anong nararamdaman namin, that’s what shows and people nowadays are very wise. Alam nila kung ano ang totoo at ano ang hindi. Sa aming dalawa ni Aga what you see is what you get. No front acts.”
Aga couldn’t help but agree with his better half and he also shared his thoughts on their marriage. “We just keep it private. It’s just very private. It’s something we built together. When I decided to marry her, that was like the best decision I ever made because up to the day of our wedding, because it took a year to prepare for the wedding, up to that day and up to now we talk about it, there was never a time, even for a second, and God is my witness, there was never a second that I doubted our marriage or my decision. Never. And for that I am so blessed. It’s really our respect for each other, our love for one another and our kids, everything comes with it,” he adds.
An obviously still love struck Aga also tells the media how blissful his family life is and how they don’t let intrigues affect them. “It’s exciting to go home after work. It’s like looking forward to finishing work and just go home right away and then talk again and just be with each other. With marriage, one secret I guess is we both decided that we’re going to make it work. We decided also that we want to grow old together so it’s going to be like that. People will always have something to say, bad or good. So we pick up the good and the bad we just leave behind. You can’t please everyone. Hindi naman naminpinagmamalaki ang aming pag-aasawa, hindi naman pinagmamalaki yung ganyan ano. But sana, when were asked about it and when we make comments about our marriage, ang daming nagsasabi na maghihiwalay rin yan or may problema yan, tinatago lang nila. You know, malas na lang talaga sa mga taong gustong manira pero wala eh, ganun talaga,” he shares.
The matinee idol also divulges how he has managed to resist temptation all these years. “I don’t go out (laughs). End of story. Sarap. Easy. I don’t go out, so no temptation,” he says.
