It’s been only two months since they officially became a couple but Gab Valenciano and Rachelle Ann Go have already proclaimed how seriously committed they are to each other. Proof of which are the identical white gold rings the two were seen wearing during a media visit to the set of Your Song Presents Exchange of Heart last Tuesday night, February 3, at Club Manila East. “Actually she has one exactly the same as mine. I gave it to her before the concert (Rachelle’s recent pre-valentine show). This is not an engagement ring or wedding ring. I just want it as a symbol na when people see it (especially the girls) when I go out to a club—which I haven’t done in a long time—or when I perform, they’d get away from me because I already have someone,” said Gab who was very vocal about how much Rachelle Ann means to him.

Though his previous relationships have always been serious, Gab further claimed that this is the first time he ever felt so much love and pride for his girlfriend. “People have a huge misunderstanding that babaero ako because in the past four years I’ve had four girlfriends. But that’s not the case. With me kasi when I find someone that special to me, I don’t think twice, I go for it. And if she’s not the one then that’s not my fault. But I’m very serious with a girl. I will do my best to make it work. I do my best for us to end up together. Pero with Rachelle, our relationship has a different aura eh. She’s the first girl of her kind that I’ve dated. The first girl I know who works so hard and who has gone from being a nobody to somebody. The way she thinks, the way she speaks, the way she takes care of me… Nobody has really treated me the way she has,” he said in earnest.

Though their engaged status in their Facebook accounts was something they posted just for fun, the 20-year-old dance hottie revealed that he and Rachelle Ann have had talks about settling down in the future. “Siyempre pinag-uusapan namin yun (marriage). Siyempre naman when you get into a relationship, that’s the ultimate goal. Even if you don’t want to think about it right now kasi I’m young, I’m only 20 years old. What do I know about marriage, ‘di ba? But then again that would be the ultimate goal in the future. Because if that’s not your goal then why would you enter into a relationship?” he reasoned. “Before, kwento niya sa akin she doesn’t want to get married kasi she’s scared that she wouldn’t be able to handle certain family problems. But sometimes [when] I see a happy family, I tell her na, ‘Sana one day we can be like that.’ Kasi honestly, I see myself waking up beside her for the rest of my life,” he added.

As if his statement isn’t surprising enough, Gab further shared that he wants to be happily married by the time he’s 25 years old. “Before [I turn] 25, actually. I used my dad as my inspiration. I can perform like my dad at his age. I can be like that. I can play basketball with him. We can dance. We play music together. We can all do these things together. Our age gap is not that far apart,” he stated. Not only is he sure about wanting to marry Rachelle, he also says that his parents knew about his dreams to settle down at an early age. “Actually I’ve said that ever since I was a kid. Like my dad was only 20 years old when he and my mom had my brother. But I’m only 24 years younger than my dad so it’s not that difficult to connect. I want to be that way with my son,” he stressed.

As for Rachelle Ann, this is the first time people have seen her very affectionate towards her boyfriend which also amazed Gab himself. “Actually a lot of people have told me na they’ve never seen Rachelle this open. Like when we’re out, she doesn’t really hold hands dati. Pero now, it’s like a normal thing. She would actually grab my hand. Medyo speechless nga ako sa kanya kasi before siya yung nagsasabi na, ‘Gab, let’s keep this on a low profile.’ Maybe it’s just the fact that I’m myself with her and I always try my best to bring out the best in her instead of competing with her. I don’t know the details between her and Christian (Bautista) and her past, but all I think about is now and the future,” he stated.

Perhaps the fact that they are more mature now helps make their relationship stronger than ever. “Whenever we fight, we try to work things out by talking about it. Pero I’ve realized that with Rachelle kasi once she learns something, nandun na yun forever. Hindi na namin pag-aawayan ulit. So I’m very blessed to have someone like her. We complement each other talaga. I mean, we both do different things, we both live different lives, so we both grow everyday,” he happily noted.
