Witness a one of a kind episode of Your Song this Sunday as real-life sweethearts Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford and Rachelle Ann Go and Gab Valenciano take part in a love story that will surely make you want to fall in love. Though ABS-CBN.com saw firsthand that they had fun working as a group, Nikki revealed that the idea of working with her ex (Gab) and her current flame (Billy) made her uncomfortable at first. “Siyempre parang may apprehensions ako nung nalaman ko na kami yung featured stars ng Your Song. Kasi parang ang awkward na totoong buhay yun eh tapos gagawin nating gimik. Pero at the end of the day okay na naman kami. Wala naman na talaga kaming kahit ano ni Gab. We’re ok. We’re fine. Okay sila ni Rachelle so tinanggap ko na. At saka parang it's a new experience. Alangan namang lahat na lang hindian ko eh ‘di ano na lang ‘di ba?” she explained.

Nikki was quick to clarify though that she has supported Rachelle Ann’s decision to be with Gab from the very start. “Si Shin (referring to Rachelle Ann) naman kasi even before nagka-developan sila ni Gab, she has always been a friend of mine. So kahit nung nililigawan pa lang siya, she would asked me about him and I give her naman my two cents worth. I’d tell her na, ‘Gab is really a nice guy at mukha naman siyang seryoso sa ‘yo.’  So ngayon wala talagang angst on my part. Even recently sabi ko sa kanya alam mo naman yung tao kapag totoong in love. Iba talaga yung glow ni Shin eh. Kaya sabi ko sa kanya, ‘I am really happy for you,’” she added.

She has no problem working closely with Gab either because they have put their past behind them a long time ago. “We’re okay. Meron naman kaming formal closure eh even with my family. We were together for five months. Pero dahil nga he was my first boyfriend medyo iba talaga yung strength ng relationship namin. Madami akong firsts with him and with his family so parang mahirap talaga. It took a while bago ako naka-move on. Pero matagal na akong handang-handa to enter into another relationship,” she exclaimed.

Gab had mentioned that he had a hard time courting Nikki for seven months before they became a couple. To which the conservative singer-actress reacted, “Siyempre first real relationship ko yun. Segurista kasi ako eh. Young as I was, meron akong idealistic [notion] na kung sino man yung una kong boyfriend, yun na yung last.” This is also the reason why she still refused to confirm the real score between her and her suitor Billy. “I don’t think its right to come from me because I am a girl and I am very old fashioned that way. Pagdating sa area na ‘yan, kung ano mang official statement about us, I’d rather it came from Billy and not from me,” she stressed.

What she likes best about Billy though is the fact that she totally enjoys his company. “Some would say I am high maintenance, na mahirap ako suyuin or pasagutin. Only because I think I have standards and ayoko rin namang masasaktan. But otherwise mababaw lang naman ang kaligayan ko. Billy makes me laugh. His friendship brings relief and comfort to me after a hard day’s work. That’s what I think of what we have. It’s a light relationship. It’s a mature friendship. It was seasoned with time. Hindi siya pinilit or minadali,” she beamed.

For now, the only thing Nikki is willing to share is that she and Billy are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day together. “Kung tutuusin wala pa akong Valentines na na-spend with a special someone. Kami ni Gab hindi kami umabot ng Valentine’s Day. So I am happy enough na first time ko magse-celebrate ng Valentine’s day ng masaya, ng hindi ako nagtatrabaho. Kasi usually sinasabi kay mama dapat may trabaho ako ng February 14 para hindi ako nag-iisa sa bahay ng Valentine’s. Pero ngayon sabi nga niya huwag daw ako mag-pasok ng work. So excited ako dahil at least may mangyayari naman sa life ko this time,” she revealed.
