The special episode of Your Song Presents: Feb-Ibig this February 8 will star real-life couples Gab Valenciano and Rachelle Ann Go and Billy Crawford and Nikki Gil. During the shoot at the Club Manila East last February 3, Billy openly talked to ABS-CBN.com on the status of his relationship with Nikki.

Although the two have admitted that there is romance between them, they still choose not to put labels on whatever relationship they have. “Mahirap din magsalita kasi matagal na rin akong hindi nagmamahal ng isang tao at may isang tao na nagmamahal sa akin. I think all of these are bago pa sa akin. But sincere talaga ako and I would say na I’m very happy especially this coming Valentine’s Day kasi may makakasama ako,” said Billy.

Nevertheless, the 26-year-old singer-performer wasn’t shy to reveal the qualities of Nikki that he finds attractive. “Maka-pamilya siya. She takes care of herself and she takes care of me kapag may kailangan ako. She’s always there. She’s also very very talented. ‘Wag lalaki ang ulo mo ha (talking to Nikki). She’s very sweet. Matalino. Kenkay. Pilipina. Hindi siya ‘yung pa-sosyal. Simple lang siya and very down to earth. Pareho pa kaming in showbiz. Para sa isang lalake, para sa akin nakaka-in love ‘yun.”

The two grew fond of each other mid-2008 when they started working together as hosts of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. When the reality-talent search show ended, many thought that Billy would immediately go abroad to attend to his budding international career. But Billy decided to stay on because of the fruitful career that he’s been enjoying in the country, and of course, the pleasure of Nikki’s company. He further talked about his romantic plans for Nikki this coming Valentine’s Day. “Matagal ko nang na-plano. Guarantee ko lang na it will be very romantic and special. Kaming dalawa lang. Somewhere na hindi pa niya napupuntahan. Nabili ko na rin ‘yung gift ko para sa kanya. It’s something na gusto niya pero hindi pa pumapayag ang mom niya na bilhin niya at this time. It’s something na nasusuot. Huwag muna nating pag-usapan kasi hindi pa niya alam (laughs).”

It is also common knowledge that Nikki’s first boyfriend was Gab who happens to be their co-star in the Your Song episode. When asked if there was any awkwardness between Billy and Gab during the taping of the said show, Billy only replied, “Things have changed. It’s a different environment now. Gab is obviously happy and ako naman I’m very happy to be working with Nikki. She’s very talented. First time ko ‘tong mag-act in a long time. I will be with Nikki, Gab, and Rachelle Ann so it’s exciting. It’s always a pleasure to be working with someone na you’re very comfortable with.”
