Weeks after she got confined in the hospital due to dengue, Angel Locsin made an appearance in the recently-concluded trade launch of ABS-CBN at the Rockwell Tent to promote the upcoming remake of the popular Koreanovela Only You where she stars opposite Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo. Though the beautiful actress practically wowed the audience with her very sexy dance number, she later confessed that she is yet to get back her usual ‘high energy level’. “Actually after ko ma-discharge sa hospital, one week bed rest talaga yung kailangan, ayaw mag-compromise nung doctor ko on that regard. So kailangan ko talagang habulin...kailangan ko mag-exercise para bumalik [yung dati ko’ng lakas], she said in a one on one interview with ABS-CBN.com last February 19.
As it happens, Angel can hardly rest these days as she prepares for the partial taping of her new soap in Korea this coming March. The original koreanovela was set in Venice, Italy but the Filipino remake will take on a more Asian feel. “Sabi nila maaabutan daw namin yung spring dun. Tapos kasama pa si Direk Rory Quintos na lagi ko’ng nakakasama sa mga out of the country shooting (for the previously shown movie Love Me Again) so I am sure panibagong experience ulit ito,” she revealed. Only You is the story of an aspiring chef who gets pregnant by a rich businessman whom she accompanies to search for his mother. Since Angel has never portrayed a mother role before, she admitted that she has had some doubts when this project was first offered to her.
There is no doubt that Angel would miss her team-up with lovable actor Piolo Pascual who was her first leading man in a teleserye as a Kapamilya. But then she also happily shared that she doesn’t need time to adjust with her new leading men, who have been really nice to her when she got sick last month. “Wala naman ako’ng [adjustment na kailangang gawin] kasi si Sam first partner ko talaga dito sa ABS-CBN for Maalaala Mo Kaya (Pilat episode). Wala eh, napaka-comfortable ko with Sam dahil kahit mas older siya sa akin, ang turing ko sa kanya parang little brother. Ang dami na naming napag-uusapan, may secrets na kami, nagbibigay na kami ng advice sa isa’t-isa, at pinuntahan niya ako nung may sakit ako. So I am happy. With Diet, ganun din. Nagulat ako, na-touch ako kasi dumalaw din siya sa ospital ng walang sabi-sabi, nag-wish lang siya ng get well soon, ganun,” she exclaimed.
But prior to the showing of Only You, viewers can catch Angel again on primetime television this coming February 28 for a very special Maalaala Mo Kaya episode that hopefully would bring her another Best Actress award. “Excited talaga ako kasi yung gagawin naming episode may cause.
