Ai-Ai delas Alas speaks up for Boy Abunda

After hearing of the scathing comment issued by Dr. Vicki Belo during a recent television interview, Ai-ai de las Alas couldn’t help but come to the defense of her dear friend and manager Boy Abunda. During the February 24 episode of their morning variety show Ruffa and Ai, the Comedy Concert Queen aired her sentiments on Vicki Belo’s actions. "Medyo hurt lang ako and sad. Because of my manager na si Boy ay nalulungkot ako kasi nahu-hurt siya dahil nga sa nangyari sa kanila ni Belo and ako naman, opinyon ko bilang manager si Boy, tatay ko siya, kaibigan ko siya, siyempre ayoko na nahu-hurt siya. Dahil una sa lahat, never naman niya sinabi na maganda siya or guwapo siya,” she tells the Ruffa and Ai viewers.

The host—and former Belo endorser—also tried to explain why people shouldn’t resort to hurting each other like that. “Ang buhay po natin maiksi lang. Life is too short, mas maganda kung hindi tayo nakakasakit ng kapwa natin or may sumasama ng loob sa atin everyday, mas maganda yun. And I think yung [galing] kay doktora, is uncalled for. Hindi yun dapat sinasabi ng isang doktora. So yun lang naman yung akin. And siyempre kay Amang (Boy), parati ko siyang kakampi, kasangga,” she explains. Ai-ai also had a message for the SNN host. “Ama, siyempre love kita always. Siyempre ipagtatanggol kita kahit anong mangyari,” she stressed.

Although she is an endorser of the Belo clinic, Ai-ai’s co-host Ruffa Gutierrez also spoke up about the issue. “Ako naman, siyempre bilang endorser ni Dr. Belo and siyempre napamahal na din sa akin si Tito Boy. Talagang mahal na mahal ko siya. Ang wish ko lang po is sana magkabati sila dahil ang masakit kasi diyan is close na close sila dati. Wala pa ako sa buhay nilang dalawa, talagang mag-best friends sila. Para silang magkapatid. So sa lahat na siguro ng magkapatid at saka magkamag-anak, nagkakaroon ng mga dipirensiya. Sana mag-sit down sila and talk at ayusin nila yung problema nila. Nakakalungkot. Sana mahkabati na po kayo,” she says.
