Former Star Magic talent Joseph Bitangcol returns to ABS-CBN as he joins the cast of Agimat, Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla: Hulihin Si Tiagong Akyat. Joseph plays the role of Pablo, an ex-convict who will become one of Gerald Anderson’s partners in crime. It’s been a while since he was last seen in an ABS-CBN show, the last being The Adventures of Pedro Penduko, and he is thrilled to be given the chance to work with Kapamilya stars again.
“It’s nice to be back. Masaya ako kasi siyempre welcome pa rin ako dito simula nung nag-freelance ako. After two years, nagkaproject ulit ako dito,” he told ABS-CBN.com during the story conference of the first installment of Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla last Saturday, June 11. Luckily for him, Joseph was already friends with most of the cast which included Jason Abalos, Danilo Barrios, and Arron Villaflor.
An action-packed show seems to be just what he needs right now to distract him from his recent breakup with a non-showbiz girlfriend whose family had to migrate in the States. That situation reminded him of ex-girlfriend Sandara Park who returned to Korea in 2007. Okay lang, relax, puro work muna. Darating naman tayo diyan ‘di ba?” Joseph revealed that he still keeps in touch with Sandara once in a while. “Okay kami. Pero huli ko siyang nakausap early this year pa, nung before siya maging busy. So ngayon medyo pahinga ang communication namin.”
Sandara has been reaping lots of praise ever since her girl group, 2NE1, made its debut. 2NE1 now has hit songs like “Lollipop,” “Fire,” and “I Don’t Care.” Nakakabilib talaga dahil after two years simula nung umalis siya dito, nag-pay off din yung hard work niya. Ang tagal din niyang hinintay yun e. Tsaka mas maganda dahil nandun siya sa sarili niyang bansa,” said the 24-year-old actor.
And it looks like Joseph still has some regrets about their relationship. Three years naging kami e, parang sayang din. Hindi naman natin masasabi [noon na] in the future kung kami pa rin talaga,” he revealed.
