Has Cristine Reyes found a new love? |

Cristine Reyes confirmed she’s staying a Kapamilya by signing a one-year contract with ABS-CBN last July 30. Cristine said that she is very thankful that the network is still entrusting her with good projects. “Sobrang excited ako kasi two months din akong napahinga. Nilubos ko naman ‘yung break ko so ngayon ready na ako mag-trabaho uli. Masaya na after all the speculations nandiyan pa rin ang ABS-CBN at nagtitiwala pa rin sila sa akin. Thankful ako. Kahit magulo ang isip ko nun hindi nila ako pinabayaan.”
Cristine then talked about the TV projects she will be doing in the coming months, like the next episode of Your Song Presents, a self-titled drama special, a teleserye, and an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. “Ang una kong gagawin is ‘yung next chapter ng Your Song. Hindi ko pa alam kung sino ang makakasama ko kasi baka sa Saturday pa kami mag-story conference. Then may naka-line up din na Cristine series at hopefully matuloy ‘yung isa pang project for next year. I heard may MMK din akong gagawin. I’m so happy kasi gusto ko talagang gumawa ng MMK ulit.”
Aside from Cristine’s career updates, there seems to be some developments in her love life as well. After confirming that her relationship with Dennis Trillo ended last May, the 20-year-old sexy actress is said to be dating the student council president from the Ateneo De Manila University. Cristine was shocked when the media already got wind of her friendship with the guy only known as Gio. “Paano niyo nalaman ‘yan?! Ha ha ha! Non-showbiz ‘yung tao. Huwag niyo na siyang isama sa showbiz, nakakahiya sa kanya. Nag-aaral pa ‘yun. Hindi niya kaya ang showbiz world. Leave him alone… joke!”
Cristine eventually admitted that she has known the guy from when she was still in sixth grade. “Friend ko siya. Grade 6 pa ako nung nanligaw siya sa akin. E kaya lang masyado pa akong bata nun. Ngayon we go out on dates with other friends.” She clarified though that their relationship is not yet in the serious stage. “Wala akong love life. Wala pa. Getting to know pa lang. Nakakahiya na ‘to, nagme-melt na ako! Ha ha ha! Hindi ko alam kung nanliligaw siya. Busy kasi siya e, parang artista rin. Hindi naman namin minamadali e. Hindi ko pa ‘to nakukwento kay Ate VR! (Veronique Del Rosario, her manager). Hindi ko pa masabi [‘yung status naming]. Siguro hinay hinay muna. Bata pa kami pareho. Marami pa kaming gustong gawin sa buhay namin.”
When asked what she finds special about this guy, Cristine said that she values her friendship with him. “Para sa akin iba ‘yung friendship namin kasi Grade 6 pa ako kilala ko na siya. Crush ko na siya nun. Masaya ‘yung past namin.” She added that Gio is someone she enjoys being with and talking to on the phone. “Sobra siyang matangkad. Hindi siya iyong hunk na kapag nakita mo ‘wow gwapo!’ Pero kapag nakausap mo sobrang may sense kausap. At saka nakakapag-usap kami sa phone for like two hours.”
