John Lloyd Cruz wishes Bea Alonzo well on her new movie
by Arnel Ramos | August 08, 2009 1:44 AM |

But when I saw some footage na nakuhanan na, I became more confident.

Bea stars in And I Love You So with Derek Ramsay and Sam Milby. Bea has shared stellar billing with Milby before in the hit flick Close To You and the soaps Maging Sino Ka Man Books I and II where they also had John Llody in the cast. “I’ve seen her grow up,” says John Lloyd of Bea. “She was fifteen when I first worked with her. Maraming-marami na kaming pinagsamahan and alam ko na this is something na kailangan naming pagdaanan. Actually, we wished for this.” John Lloyd is obviously referring to the chance to break out of the love team mold.

The public wildly embraced his team up with Sarah Geronimo in two gigantic blockbusters, ang A Very Special Love at You Changed My Life.

Sadly, Bea’s two screen outings without John Lloyd (Dreamboy with Piolo Pascual and Pacquiao with Jericho Rosales) were not as warmly received as John Lloyd’s pairings with Sarah. There is no long argument over Bea’s skills as an actress. She can be very persuasive as in One More Chance and charming like in Now That I Have You. Both films featured the John Loyd-Bea team up and did extremely well at the tills.

Thus, And I Love You So is a crucial test for Bea’s box-office pull. And needless to say, John Lloyd is supportive of his beloved screen sweetheart’s efforts to prove her worth.
