Gerald Anderson has definitely gone a long way since his days as a housemate of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition three years ago. After doing teleseryes and movies, the Fil-American cutie from General Santos City is now hailed as one of the ‘Princes of Primetime television.’ Gerald earned rave reviews for his portrayal of man in uniform David ‘JR’ Garcia Jr. in the top rating teleserye Tayong Dalawa. ABS-CBN.com spoke with Gerald during the farewell party for the teleserye last September 25 where he thanked all the viewers who made Tayong Dalawa a big success. Thank you for continuously supporting the show at kami rin po.
The 20-year-old actor shed his boy-next-door image to play a more mature role in Tayong Dalawa. The move may be considered a big risk for young star like him, but with enough hard work and determination, Gerald’s gamble paid off as fans and critics are now calling him a ‘certified actor’ because of Tayong Dalawa. During the said farewell party, Gerald also earned acclaims from his Tayong Dalawa directors Ruel Bayani and Trina Dayrit and Business Unit Head Deo Endrinal.
As early as now, there are those who are predicting that Tayong Dalawa may bring Gerald his very first acting award. However, the young actor’s mind is not fixed solely on snatching a trophy.
Gerald also told ABS-CBN.com that he will surely miss playing JR Garcia. He said he hopes he get to do another character similar to JR or a teleserye in the same drama caliber as Tayong Dalawa. “Nasa puso ko na si JR forever. Playing the character is something I will miss very much.
If Gerald’s image and acting matured in Tayong Dalawa, has his relationship with leading lady and long time ka-love team Kim Chiu evolved too? Although the young man had been very vocal about his feelings for Kim, the two have yet to become officially an item.
