Kaye Abad on a possible relationship with Guji Lorenzana: ‘Wag muna kasi masyado pang maaga’ |

Kaye Abad and Guji Lorenzana visited the Kapamilya Chat Room last October 12 to invite fans from around the world to watch their new teleserye Precious Hearts Romances presents Somewhere in my Heart. In an interview with ABS-CBN.com after the chat, Kaye expressed how happy she was entertaining questions from fans online. “Bitin nga ako sa pakikipag-chat sa kanila. Ang saya ng mga tanong nila, kadalasan tinatanong nila ako ng mga bagay na hindi pa nila alam kay Guji. Ibubuking ko naman si Guji. Nag-chat din ‘yung dad at sisters niya na nasa US. Nakakagulat na may mga fans na ume-effort talaga para sa amin.”
The actress said that although her love team with Guji—fondly called ‘Kayji’ by their followers—has earned a huge fan base, there is no pressure for the two of them to have a real relationship just to satisfy their supporters. “Sa Facebook maraming nagwi-wish na sana maging kami nga in real life. We understand that it’s normal for them to feel that way. Pero hindi naman nila kami pine-pressure. Tingin ko naman hindi sasama ‘yung loob nila kapag hindi naging kami. Matatalino naman sila.”
Kaye and Guji were met in an episode of the first PHR chapter entitled Bud Brothers, and from then on the two became good friends. But the actress clarified that there is nothing romantic going on between them. “Close lang talaga kami. Gentleman kasi si Guji at touchy. Super sweet niya sa akin kaya maraming tao ang nakaka-misinterpret na kami na. Pero friends lang talaga kami, comfortable kami sa isa’t isa.”
The 27-year-old actress admitted that it isn’t hard for her to like Guji, but getting into a serious commitment is not on her mind at the moment. “He’s nice, good looking, smart, gentleman. Pero ‘wag muna kasi masyado pang maaga. I’m still getting to know him more. I’m sure may mga itinatago pa ‘yan, ha ha ha! Ngayon kasi may mga nadi-discover pa akong bago sa kanya so gusto ko mas marami pa akong ma-discover sa kanya.”
The former Tabing Ilog actress would rather not talk about affairs of the heart at the moment. “Secret! Ha ha ha!,’ said Kaye when ABS-CBN.com asked her if she was single. There have been rumors that she and long-time boyfriend Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda have already broken up, but Kaye had not confirmed anything.
While she would rather remain just friends with Guji for now, Kaye admitted that she is open to the possibility of a romance with the US-raised singer-actor later on. “Ayokong magsalita ng tapos. Let’s see. Malalaman niyo naman ‘yan kung nanliligaw na siya. Mapapansin naman agad ‘yan ng mga tao sa paligid namin. Trabaho na lang muna ngayon. I think it’s working na we’re good friends sa ngayon.”
