John Lloyd Cruz is all set to start shooting his next film with Bea Alonzo

Fresh from the international success of his movie In My Life, John Lloyd Cruz sat down for the story conference of his next movie with Bea Alonzo at ABS-CBN yesterday, October 20. When asked how he feels about his reunion movie with his long-time onscreen partner, he shared that he’s looking forward to the new challenges that they would be facing together.

During the closed-door meeting, the two were also reunited with their former I Love Betty La Fea co-star Maricar Reyes who will be in a love triangle with them again. “Oo nga e. Pero hindi ko lang alam kung ang intention is for her to be part of a love triangle or to actually come up with a love triangle [in the story]. All I can say is that it’s a very, very different kind of love story, so yun ang maasahan ng moviegoers,” he stressed.

And to top it off, director Cathy Garcia-Molina will be at the helm of this much-awaited movie. But can audiences expect their characters to be more mature compared to Basya and Popoy from their hit movie One More Chance? “Yung maturity naman dapat masustain kasi sa nagawa namin sa One More Chance, hindi naman yata pwedeng bumaba dun yung level of intensity namin. Sa characters pa lang marami ng bago. Pero ang pinakachallenge dito is yung klase ng storytelling na meron ito, yung magiging tono and timpla nito,” he explained.

On a final note, John Lloyd shared that he also wants to show that his working relationship with Bea has grown even stronger after seven years of working with each other. “Siyempre this is bound to happen [na magbalik-tambalan kami]. Nagsimula kami ni Bea years and years ago. We hit it big sa TV, tapos nakailang pelikula kami, tapos tumigil kami after One More Chance.

Scheduled to be a post-Valentine Star Cinema offering, John Lloyd and Bea will start shooting on November 16.
