Sarah Geronimo recently confirmed that she has a movie under Star Cinema with Judy Ann Santos for 2010. The latter stressed that the movie will showcase the young star’s versatility in acting especially after her previous box office hits. But what makes this project more exciting is Sarah’s supposed team-up with Luis Manzano who just came from the success of In My Life. With his sense of humor and charming personality, the chemistry between Luis and Sarah will definitely be interesting to see on the big screen.
But Luis and Sarah’s former leading man John Lloyd Cruz expressed his “jealousy” about this piece of news in a recent interview with ABS-CBN.com. “E, sana nga iba na lang. Sana ako na lang. Parang linya lang sa One More Chance e no. I’m talking to Luis by the way ha, hindi kay Sarah,” he joked at first. The actor said he was really proud of Sarah’s accomplishments as a singer/actress. “Bukod sa kanyang napaka-stunning na career sa pagkanta, pinasok din niya yung pelikula para mapatunayan na she can also be an actress. Napatunayan naman niya yun sa A Very Special Love and You Changed My Life. So naturally ang gusto ng tao magkaroon siya ng growth as an actress. Inevitable na maipareha siya sa ibang lalaki.”
The fact that Sarah’s next onscreen partner happens to be his very good friend further assured John Lloyd that she will be in good hands. “Siyempre alam ko na si Luis, coming from his critically-acclaimed performance sa In My Life, natutuwa naman ako na makakagawa siya ng ibang tema. Si Sarah, that’s for sure, aalagaan naman ni Luis.”
He also believes that Sarah won’t have a hard time working with Luis because they’ve known each other for a while now. “Magkaibigan naman sila. They’re textmates ata or magkachat sa YM. Basta ang alam ko lang is that it’s a tandem that can definitely work. Nakakaexcite ding abangan na mapanood sila sa big screen kasi kasama pa ata nila si Ate Judai tsaka si Zanjoe (Marudo). Definitely susuportahan at aabangan ‘yan ng marami,” he exclaimed.
