by Napoleon Quintos | November 05, 2009 9:27 AM |

ABS-CBN launched its Christmas campaign Parol ni Bro yesterday, November 4, with a lantern lighting ceremony led by the cast of May Bukas Pa, ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio, and ABS-CBN chairman and CEO Eugenio Lopez III. The network paid tribute to the Filipino values of hope and unity by lighting an 18-foot lantern installed atop ABS-CBN’S offices, the Parol ni Bro, in reference to how the character of Santino calls God in the series May Bukas Pa.

In ceremonies attended by Kapamilya stars and ABS-CBN executives and employees, lanterns were lit up simultaneously at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City, various regional network groups across the Philippines, and selected offices around the globe. Company president Santos-Concio led a solemn prayer thanking the Lord for giving hope in the trying times after Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. ABS-CBN chairman and CEO Lopez commended the Filipino’s bayanihan spirit that, “no one gets left behind.”

The Kapamilya network also unveiled its Christmas Station ID, with the theme “Bro, Ikaw Ang Star ng Pasko” which features the biggest celebrities in the industry. The theme “Star ng Pasko” was performed by Sarah Geronimo, Piolo Pascual, KC Concepcion, Billy Crawford, Erik Santos, Mark Bautista, Rachelle Ann Go, Yeng Constantino, Jed Madela, Nina, Sitti, Aiza Seguerra, Richard Poon, Duncan Ramos, and the Pinoy Dream Academy Little Dreamers. The Station ID aims to honor God “sa liwanag Mo, magkakakulay ang Pasko.”

Special Parol ni Bro lanterns are available in different sizes and designs at Kultura and SM Department stores. They can also be purchased online at http://abscbnstore.multiply.com, www.starrystarry.com, and www.myayala.com.ph. Proceeds from the sale will go to BayaNiJuan and Sagip Kapamilya.
