Aga Muhlach is Kris Aquino’s choice to play Ninoy Aquino

Aga Muhlach was taken aback when the press told him that he is Kris Aquino’s choice to play Ninoy Aquino in an autobiographical movie Kris and her family are working on. “Ako? Wow. Siyempre nakakagulat yun, natutuwa ako pero sana lang sana magampanan ko ng mabuti ‘yun. That’s really so nice of her even just to consider me. Thank you. Let’s do it, she’s saying nga na pareho ‘yung experiences namin about sa moms namin and we both know how it feels (losing a parent). Siya bahala. Game ako,” Aga said.

With a handful of projects lined up for next year, he was asked why he thinks he remains the most preferred leading man. “No. Madami naman lahat silang (other actors) ginagawa. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko sasagutin ‘yun pero salamat talaga na I’m being considered sa mga pelikula na gusto nila gawin. That’s why nagmamadali na ako magpapayat ng magpapayat. Especially next year it will be a very busy year for me.”

Aga is also looking forward to his movie with Angel Locsin under Star Cinema, which is targeted to be released next year. When he was asked how he feels about Angel becoming star struck because of him during their first meeting, he said, “Talaga? Well, kahit ako naman eh, siyempre ‘pag first time mo nakita mai-star struck ka, and I’m really looking forward working with her.”

Meanwhile, Aga Muhlach clarified rumors about him entering politics. He said that he has been busy with his charity activities, but it does not mean any agenda to run for any office in the May 2010 elections. “Last ko na sasabihin ito, hindi ako papasok ng politika talaga. Kung ano man ang mga ginagawa ko para sa Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko (the charity foundation he has been part of for 15 years now), may mga plans kami at may mga schools na balak itayo at marami pa akong ia-announce next year pero it has nothing to do with that arena. I have nothing against it, but you know it’s like when the time is right. When the time comes that I believe na may sistema na talagang tamang umaandar, that’s the only time I will consider. But right now, no. Sinusubukan ko pero hindi talaga, eh.”
