Is James Yap jealous about Kris Aquino’s proposed team-up with Robin Padilla?

During the press con of Kris Aquino’s newest endorsement, she admitted that husband James Yap wasn’t too happy about her decision to get additional work in order to raise campaign funds for her brother Noynoy’s 2010 presidential bid. Apart from his worry that doing a soap would take too much of her time away from their kids, it seems that he also didn’t approve of management’s initial choice of leading man for Kris which was Robin Padilla. “Akala niya twice a week [lang ang taping para sa teleserye with Kim Chiu]. Pero nung nalaman niyang three times a week [kapag nagpopondo ng episodes] nagreact siya talaga. Tapos may nabasa siguro sa tabloid prior to that na may Robin pa. But I explained to him na kay Deo (Endrinal, ABS-CBN Business Unit Head) yung produksyon na ‘yan. Do you think pasasamain nila ang itsura ko, na magmumukha akong malandi?’ Siyempre hindi naman,” she revealed.

As Kris revealed further details about her talk with James, it soon became clear that he merely wanted to avoid intrigues that would surely resurface with a Kris-Robin team-up. “Pangalawa, mommy ako ni Kim. Three days lang yung back story and then the rest present time na. ‘Di ba gustong-gusto niyang parating asawa ko si Albert Martinez? Albert is really mabait. He has one of the few showbiz marriages na never kang nakarinig ng tsismis so feeling niya good influence [si Albert dahil] tama yung values ng dalawa. 50 percent of the scenes naman si Albert ang kasama,” Kris said.

But the Queen of Talk confessed that it was also her fault because she’s also going to be busy with Pilipinas Got Talent. Fortunately, James later understood that she is merely getting as many projects as she can so that Noynoy wouldn’t always depend on other people for support. “Kasi pumapasok ‘yon na every Thursday and Friday ang taping tapos starting March every Saturday. So nakita niya talaga na walang araw na wala akong work. Sabi niya sa akin, ‘Nagpromise ka sa mom na yung mga bata hindi mo pababayaan.’ And then I said, ‘Kung wala namang eleksyon hindi ko tinanggap lahat ng ito.’ I explained na hindi napupulot ang pera so I need that talent fee to pay for Noynoy’s ad spots,” she revealed.

After their talk, Kris was happy to say that James had given his all-out support to her decisions involving Noynoy’s candidacy. “Kasi he didn’t like the teleserye talaga, ayaw niya ng hours and all pero nagkaintindihan kami na it is a very positive role for me. Hindi rin siya nagdalawang isip nung sinabing kong we have a very good offer for the house. Tapos in all fairness to him, nung may konti pang kulang para sa pambayad sa kabilang istasyon para maere yung music video (Nonoy’s music video featuring several celebrities) inoffer niyang ibenta yung Land Cruiser. So wala akong mahihingi pa kay James. In that sense, naramdaman niya na kaya niyang mag-step up also to do it for Noy and for the family,” she concluded.
