Actor Albert Martinez showed up at the ABS-CBN Trade Launch held in Subic Bay, Olongapo City last November 19 and joined the rest of the Kapamilya stars to promote the upcoming shows of ABS-CBN this 2010. Aside from starring in the primetime hit May Bukas Pa, Albert is also included in the much anticipated teleserye, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo that boasts a powerhouse cast which includes Kris Aquino, Gabby Concepcion, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and many more.

Albert said that he feels flattered when Kris Aquino said in a recent press conference that her husband James Yap feels more at ease that Albert is Kris’s leading man because the actor is a good influence when it comes to family values. “Actually, natutuwa nga ako because he trusts me, James trusts me and nakakataba ng puso,” said Albert.

Meanwhile, the versatile actor said that he is saddened by the death of a friend, Johnny Delgado, whom Albert had previously worked with before. He said that years back, when they worked together in a project, Johnny gave him helpful tips on how to improve his acting. Albert also admitted that Johnny’s death due to cancer made a big impact on his family because Albert’s wife, Liezl Martinez, is also battling cancer. “Yung pagpanaw ni Johnny Delgado is not good for my wife, emotionally,” revealed Albert, but quickly added his family is keeping optimistic that they can overcome this trial. “Very optimistic (kami) na kaya naming labanan ‘to and so far, so good,” Albert said.

Speaking of optimism, Albert is also glad to be included in the Kapamilya station ID entitled Bro, Ikaw ang Star ng Pasko, which he said is very appropriate to current times. “Napakaganda kasi. Napaka-positive and tamang tama siya dahil very timely sa nangyari sa atin. It gives us hope,” said Albert, who admitted that he is personally inspired by the song to remain positive.
