In their recent movie project Paano Na Kaya, many have noticed the improvement of Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu's acting. Their on-screen chemistry is more appealing than ever as they are now beyond the teenage stage and started to do more intimate scenes. "Sobrang nakakataba ng puso kasi binuhos namin ni Kim yung pagod namin sa movie na yun, sobrang daming nanood sobrang daming naging masaya nung napanood nila, yung Star Cinema masaya sa outcome ng movie namin kaya nakaka-inspire lalo dahil yung pagod namin nag-pay off."
Gerald credits all the success that he has now to their Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition stint. For him, starting in a reality based show made their love team, as well as their friendship, grow and bloom more naturally. "Siyempre dun din kami nagsimula sa PBB. Hindi siya soap, reality show siya, totoo yung mga ginagawa namin, totoo yung mga emotions, totoo yung (samahan namin) kaya siguro nakita ng mga tao…. kasi like yung mga love team pinag-pe-pair-up lang pero sa amin kung baga natural and sobrang mahal namin mga fans namin."Gerald is glad to know that another love team was brought together by the said reality show --- Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Big Winner Melisa Cantiveros and Second Big Placer Jason Francisco, who are now known as 'Melason’. Gerald himself sees a lot of potential in Melai and Jason and believes in their chemistry. "May chemistry sila madaming may gusto sa kanila, ayoko maging selfish, gusto ko rin na kung ano yung mga naranasan ko, ano yung mga pinagdaanan ko, ano yung mga naranasan ko na masarap gusto ko rin na maranasan nila."
As a PBB ex-housemate, Gerald knows how hard it is to adjust to life in the outside world. He said that every housemate needs to be prepared privacy issues and other problems that will come to them."Siyempre kung normal na tao ka, hindi ka sanay sa mga ganito (referring to the media interview) mabibigla ka, tapos mamaya may magte-text sa'yo or sasabihin sayo ganito ganito, siyempre kung baguhan ka, may mga intriga, (less) privacy, paglabas mo ng bahay ni Kuya, or bahay mo talagang maraming nakakakilala sa iyo nakakabigla, kaya yun nga yung advise ko talagang mag-focus sila, tiis-tiis."
As for Melai and Jason being a real-life couple, Gerald said that they need to stick to each other more most especially during the adjustment period. "Siyempre dapat magsama sila ng matagal dito sa labas para malaman nila kung totoo yung mga nararamdaman nila or baka nadala lang sila, hindi naman sa hype, (kung hindi)sa situation, sa mga nangyari sa kanila sa loob."
