After being part of the Erich Gonzales-Enchong Dee love triangle, Xian Lim is going solo with his career. While Erich and Enchong are enjoying great rating and reviews on TV and in movies, Xian said that he doesn’t feel any envy towards their success. “Bakit naman ako malulungkot? In fact I’m very happy that they’re both doing good, especially Erich because magaling talaga siya,” he told ABS-CBN.com in an interview after the cast look test for Agimat presents Elias Paniki.
Xian was supposed to be one of Erich’s leading men when she was launched in the teleserye Katorse. But after a series of cast changes, Enchong was added to the cast and Xian was eventually left out. According to hearsay, this was done as punishment for Xian who insisted on courting Erich against the advice of the management. This was later proven untrue.
But recently a story broke out claiming Xian and Erich are in a relationship being kept a secret from Enchong and the network bosses. Xian was surprised to learn about this speculation. “Marami talagang gagawa ng intriga. Pero hindi totoong may relationship kami ni Erich. Nagkakausap kami minsan. Hindi na kami masyadong nagkikita kasi busy na rin siya. Hindi naging kami, ano ba? Ha ha ha!”
The 20-year-old actor-model also learned about the nasty write-ups saying Erich has become “pasaway” and difficult to work with. Xian defended Erich by saying, “Nung nakasama ko si Erich wala naman akong napansin ganun. Lahat ng nakita ko sa kanya, matulungin siya sa mga co-actors niya. I’ve been hearing a lot of negative things about her pero I would say hindi totoo ‘yung mga ‘yun.”
Xian believed that the negative stories against Erich is just one of the ugly things that celebrities have to learn to deal with. “Nakakalungkot na nangyayari ito sa kanya. As a friend siyempre nalulungkot tayo kapag ‘yung kaibigan natin idina-down ng ibang tao. Pero ganun talaga ang buhay. We can’t please everybody so we just have to deal with it.”
For now Xian has set aside his love life to focus on work. “Wala munang love life. Intindihin ko muna ang trabaho,” he explained. Aside from a support role in the primetime teleserye Rubi, Xian will soon be seen in Elias Paniki with Jake Cuenca in the title role. “I’m very grateful na isinama nila ako dito. Malaking project kasi ito. Also dahil may mga action sequences we will have training. Matututo ako ng martial arts na pwede kong gamitin sa mga future projects,” Xian said.
Watch out for Xian as Jake Cuenca’s sidekick in Agimat presents Elias Paniki premiering soon.
