PBB’s Tom Rodriguez is open to going nude for a project

Tom Rodriguez said that he wants to paint the portraits of Dolphy and Gloria Diaz because they are interesting subjects. “It would be interesting [to paint Dolphy because] he has so much character,” explained the former Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemate who is a talented painter. “Titingnan mo lang siya kahit wala siyang sabihin.” On the other hand, he said that he would like to paint the former Miss Universe because she looks regal.

“When I do portraits, I find more character in people who have gone through a lot because they’ve got stories to tell. The younger people parang wala pa silang story. Parang sarili ko konti pa lang ang nangyari sa buhay ko pero sila they’ve gone through so much, hopefully ma-capture ‘yung story [via paintings].”

He also picked the two veteran actors when asked for people he would like to paint nude, which for him is a form of art. When asked if he is willing to be painted naked himself, Tom replied, “Sure, I can’t be biased. Nung sinabi ko I’ll paint other people nude for art’s sake, who am I to say na I can’t be painted nude? Parang sobrang biased ko naman, art is art.” But he was quick to add that taking one’s clothes off should be for a good cause. “If it was for a good reason… kung maghuhubad ka lang for nothing, pangit naman,” he reasoned.

Tom said that he has also no qualms about going nude for a film or doing sexy or love scenes. “If it’s work, I’m going to try to do it,” he said, which was what he did in the upcoming film Here Comes The Bride, where he did love scenes with co-stars Eugene Domingo and Angelica Panganiban. He is also grateful that even if he was just a newcomer, Eugene and Angelica were willing to help him out.

For TV, Tom shared that he did a love scene with Valerie Concepcion in the current Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Love Me Again. “I’m very comfortable working with her. She helps us out, she makes us feel… para maging komportable ang feeling. Magandang katrabaho si Valerie.”
