James Yap finally breaks his silence days after Kris Aquino declared that she’s given up on their marriage. In his press statement, James tells of the promises he made to the late President Corazon Aquino to take care of his Baby James and his family and that he intends to keep them. “Nangako ako kay Mom Cory na hindi ko pababayaan ang pamilya namin… na aalagaan ko si Baby James. Nangako rin kami ni Kris sa harap ni Mom Cory na hindi kami maghihiwalay.”

In his message to Kris Aquino, James expresses how determined he is to fix their marital problems. “Kris, marami na tayong pinagdaan na mas mabigat na problema pa rito pero hindi talaga ako bumitaw. Nanahimik lang ako palagi bilang respeto sa pamilya natin na hanggang ngayon ay gusto ko pa ring manatiling buo.”

He also expresses how much he loves her, his son and Josh. He reiterates further that he will fight for their marriage and he’s very positive that they survive this stage in their family life. “Mahal na mahal ko kayo ng anak ko, pati na si Josh na tunay na anak na ang turing ko. Inuulit ko, it’s final. Ipaglalaban ko ang pagsasama ng pamilya natin. At sa tulong ng Diyos, alam kong malalampasan natin ang pagsubok na ito."
