Charice says trusted people around her keep her grounded

While Charice shot to international fame because of her powerful singing voice, she recently revealed that she is taking up voice lessons in preparation for her upcoming role as an exchange student on the hit American TV series, Glee. From Broadway ‘yung vocal coach, which is totally better than pop talaga. Charice also said that she has a speech coach to help improve her English. She said that she will begin taping for Glee on July 28.

With all the opportunities that come with international stardom, there are also temptations that could post threat to any career. “Actually, sa lahat ng mga celebrities na mga nabalitaan ko na natukso, never pumasok sa isip ko na baka maging ganun ako, kasi siguro dahil depende rin sa pinanggalingan,” explained Charice, who has been vocal from the very beginning that she came from a poor family. Even with her friends, Charice admitted that she is still very careful with her actions. “As much as possible siyempre, hindi ko naman sinasabing ‘yung mga ka-close ko hindi ko pinagkakatiwalaan pero hangga’t maaari siyempre kailangan always be careful baka hindi natin alam ‘yung mga ka-close natin, eh may intensyon pala na baka ginaganito ka na kasi may gusto silang ipagawa sa ‘yo baka ma-tease ka, that’s why importante din talaga ‘yung mga taong nakapaligid sa ‘yo which is very careful naman ako and siyempre ‘yung mga taong nakapaligid naman sa akin okay naman.”

With the sure signs of international stardom, Charice said that she is setting aside her love life in favor of her career. Charice said that she intends to be very careful when it comes to heart matters.

Charice also described her ideal guy, which she said is difficult to find. “’Yung importante sa akin ‘yung responsible kaya ngayon hindi pa ako ready kasi parang ngayon wala, eh wala ‘yung ganun.”
