Toni Gonzaga says it is a 'dream come true' to finally work with Boy Abunda

Toni Gonzaga said that what she is most excited about as a co-host of The Buzz is the chance to work with King of Talk, Boy Abunda. Toni said that she feels like she is taking up her Masters Degree because she is driven to excel in her new stint. “Tito Boy is the best with what he does, he’s the King of Talk [and it feels like] I’m really taking [up] my Master’s na. Kaya seryoso na talaga ito, kaya hindi ka puwedeng pumetiks. Talagang every Sunday, kailangan you have to be there prepared and ready,” she explained.

She also shared how touched she was when Boy approached her and gave her a hug on the day that she, together with Charlene Gonzalez-Muhlach, were introduced as the newest The Buzz co-hosts last July 11. “It means so much to me kasi coming from him masarap makaramdam ng alam mo na welcome ka at pinaparamdam niya sayo na pamilya ka. Masaya, masarap ang pakiramdam.” Aside from this, Toni also appreciated Boy’s advice to her just to have fun to become an effective host.

Toni did not deny that Boy played a very big part in bringing Toni and the other two female co-hosts, Charlene and KC Concepcion, closer. “Tito Boy really helped us, siya talaga ‘yung nagtahi sa aming tatlo… parang glue na nagdikit sa aming tatlong babae,” Toni said, adding that it is a privilege to work with the two women whom she equally admires. “Masayang-masaya kasi I’m friends with KC. Gaya ng sinabi ko sa kanya, I’m looking forward to a greater friendship with her on and off screen and I even texted Ate Charlene after the show na sabi ko it’s so nice na may kaibigan ako na katulad niya. Sabi ko rin I’m also happy and I’m looking forward sa magandang relasyon namin on and off screen.”

Meantime, Toni downplayed the compliments of her former Entertainment Live co-hosts Luis Manzano, Bianca Gonzalez and Mariel Rodriguez, who were one in saying that Toni is the most deserving among them to be part of The Buzz. “Kami kasi may kanya-kanyang kakayahan, may kanya-kanya kaming strength, abilidad kung paano namin ginagawa ang pagho-host sa programa. So siguro hindi kami puwedeng i-compare [dahil] para sa akin walang pinakamagaling kasi sa pagkakakilala ko sa kanila, lahat kami ‘pag sinalang, we always give our 100 percent on the job. Para sa akin, kaming apat kung anong meron kami binibigay naming lahat.

Though she admitted that she will terribly miss E-Live, which hosted for three years, Toni is optimistic that she could work with them again in the future and see each other every now and then since E-Live and The Buzz belong to the same talk unit. “Magkikita-kita pa rin kami. Hindi mawawala kung anong meron kaming apat at kung anuman ‘yung naging samahan namin sa show, magpapatuloy ‘yon.
