Dominic Ochoa on getting married: 'I'm ready!'

“I'm ready,” actor Dominic Ochoa said when asked if he is ready to settle down. The 35-year-old actor said that he intends to finally pop up the big question to his girlfriend of four years, make-up artist Denise Go, before this year ends. Dominic summarized his plans in four steps -- proposal, a civil wedding, a church wedding abroad then a wedding party. “Yung wedding maybe early next year, but the proposal should be this year,” he added.

The actor confessed that he feels that this is the right time to start his own family. “I want take everything light pero darating tayo sa punto ng buhay natin na kailangan nating magseryoso. Pagdating sa trabaho, seryoso ako. Pagdating sa personal na buhay seryoso tayo,” he shared. “The first three parts, will be just the family and us. Fourth, everyone is invited. Kahit sinong kilala namin. Masaya sana ang marami kayo but I want it really solemn,” he continued.  “I've attended so many weddings, you spend so much for the flowers, for the entourage pero, the visitors just end up being into, 'Ano ba'ng suot nito ni ganyan,' ayoko nun. Yun ang naging kulturang Pilipino pero ayokong lahatin, pero 'yun ang napansin ko. I don’t want to spend my hard earned money for that. Pagtingin ko sa litrato namin or video, gusto kong masabi ko, 'Eto 'yung worth na wedding.' The simpler the better.”

He also added that many of his colleagues in and out of show biz have happy family lives and this has encouraged Dominic to ponder on marrying. Dominic said that he has reached that stage when he would rather rest rather than go out and party all night. “I still party hard and make it a point that I have a blast whenever I go out but it's not like how it was before,” he emphasized.

Although he would be marrying in a year's time, Dominic has no intention yet of quitting show biz. He’s currently seen on afternoon soap Ligaw Na Bulaklak, where he plays Roxanne Guinoo’s nemesis.
