The daytime drama icon returns to the small screen – Coney Reyes stars in yet another poignant tale in Maalala Mo Kaya. She stars with young actor-dancer Rodjun Cruz in this episode based on a true story.

Coney plays Nadz, a woman who is still grieving her husband’s death after two years. She joins her best friend in a program aimed at helping prisoners. Nadz meets Tonton, played by Rodjun, a young convict dealing with the worsening condition of the penitentiary. She figures that Tonton’s case will get worse if he and other juvenile offenders will be mixed with older prisoners.

Nadz decides to build Home without Bars, a facility that aims to give young prisoners a second shot at life. She cares for Tonton and the others like her own children. But amidst her efforts to do good, Nadz will also realize her love also has its limitations.

This episode also stars Sharmaine Centenera, Nikki Bacolod, and Jim Paredes and is directed by Ruel Naval. Catch Maalaala Mo Kaya’s touching episode this Saturday, June 20, after The Singing Bee.
