Cristy Fermin sat on the hot seat of The Buzz to defend herself from Nadia Montenegro’s damaging claims last week on the same show.  The columnist-host started by saying “Tahasan ko pong sasabihin na sinungaling na siya (Nadia) ay inconsistent pa.”  Cristy took offense when Nadia accused her of breaking the latter’s friendship with actress Gretchen Barretto.  Cristy said that it was Nadia who called Gretchen nasty names in the past but blamed everything on the columnist/host. She also explained that she only came into the scene when Nadia started accusing her.  According to Cristy, Nadia asked her a couple of times to spy on Gretchen. “Lipstick camera ang pinadadala mo sa akin.  Ang sabi mo i-connive ko, o kuntsabahin ko ‘yung security guard ng Essensa sa basement dahil duon bumababa si Gretchen.”

Cristy also gave details on the meeting that took place in Rembrandt Hotel some time ago, where Nadia and Gretchen supposedly had a heated talk over the person who was responsible for spreading nasty rumors about Gretchen. This was also attended by Cristy, whom Tanya (Nadia’s sister) asked to come, Mayor Boy Asistio (Nadia’s husband) and some other selected friends.  Cristy stressed that it was Nadia who spread the rumors that Gretchen was supposedly kicked out by partner Tonyboy Cojuangco from their house.

Cristy further dispelled Nadia’s allegation that she has smudged the reputation of countless celebrities. The columnist explained that she had praised many celebrities in the past even if she does not personally know them and rebuked them if they did something wrong. “Huwag kang mag-imbento ng senaryo na hindi ko kayang panindigan.”  Cristy even challenged the Nadia to claim of any instance when she paid the her a single centavo from the time former actress entered show business.  “Ikaw ang sini-single out ko. Ikaw marunong ka bang magpasalamat kapag pinupuri kita? Naaalala mo lang ako kapag pinipitik kita,” the host said to Nadia.

Cristy also exposed Nadia’s pregnancy outside of her marriage and hiding the baby from her husband and children. The baby was allegedly left in the care of a celebrity friend and months after giving birth, Nadia introduced the baby to her family as her adopted child.

The veteran showbiz reporter said that she is not afraid of whatever Nadia might expose against her.  She apologized to Nadia’s husband, Mayor Boy Asistio, saying that she was left with no choice but to defend herself from Nadia’s alleged mudslinging. “Iniwan mo ako ng walang pamimilian kundi ang bumalik at sumuntok pabalik sa kanya. Umalis ako ng bansa at sinamantala ang pananahimik sa Canada. At sinumang nagsasalita ng patalikod ay traydor,” said Cristy.
