Bon Voyage, Cathy!
by Stephanie Manhit | October 30, 2009 6:34 PM |

The many tasks this week were focused on the Big Swap, pushing all housemates to see themselves as worthy ambassadors to a Big Brother house abroad. Not only did they have to practice being a team player on their sewing project, they had to develop themselves as individuals as well. From stressing over their English during individual interviews to going all out on promoting themselves on their “Ako-mmercials” and later on in a pageant, the housemates showed their enthusiasm in wanting to have that rare chance to go abroad. The list was trimmed down to 10 housemates, then to 5, and then to 3 finalists. These three finalists were Hermes, Cathy and Melai. Only one would have the much-coveted slot, though, and that lucky housemate was Cathy.

Cathy was part of the second batch of housemates to enter this season, turning heads with her simple yet beautiful features. Though a native of Zamboanga, she decided to put down roots in Bohol, where her search for her father led her. A licensed nurse, she yearns to be taken care of as much as she is passionate to nurture others. Her need for a father figure extended to her personal relationships, and she usually finds herself drawn to men several years her senior. When she answers, there is no doubt that she has something of substance between her ears. More importantly, her warmth and cheerful demeanor enabled her to form friendships within the house. Within days, a co-housemate already expressed his admiration for her. Again with her characteristic smile, she talked to him to clear things and both returned to an easy-going friendship. She has been an enthusiastic team player and has never shirked from any task. Cathy has developed good relations with her housemates and has shown a high regard for trust and loyalty.

Will Cathy be able to keep her head on straight as she is sent to a foreign land? What tasks await her, and will she be as willing to trust her new housemates? The Big Swap will be here before you know it, so stay tuned as new twists are sure to happen!
