The PBB Housemates celebrate Christmas
by Krishna Belle Meniado | December 26, 2009 1:36 AM |

Family reunions during Christmas are the sweetest things. This is what Big Brother must have had in mind when he had Patrick, Tibo, Mariel and Kath play a special game wherein they can be rewarded with the chance to see their children if they win.

The four were sent to the confession room to complete black-and-white picture puzzles of their children. With Tibo and Kath having a difficult time forming their sets, Mariel and Patrick both won the special opportunity of wrapping Christmas gifts for their children. These were then sent to their sons, who were clearly pleased with the surprise. On the other hand, Tibo and Kath's sons still received Christmas gifts unbeknownst to them. Christmas is all about giving, after all!

At the same time, all the parents were still given the privilege to see their kids. But unlike Mariel and Patrick, Tibo and Kath will be blindfolded and will only be able to hug their kids. It was Annina, asked by Big Brother, who helped send in the children into the confession room where their moms and dads were waiting. Tibo and Patrick were both emotional upon seeing their sons, whom they sorely missed, while Mariel was the most enthusiastic, perhaps inspired by her cute son in a Santa Claus outfit. Kath was also in tears upon finding out her originally Spanish-speaking son has learned to speak a few Tagalog words. After their visits, each of them thanked Big Brother for giving them such a special present this Christmas.

Annina was also touched with the short but stirring reconcialiation she witnessed inside the confession room. "It touched my heart. It's everything to them," she said. "(I hope) it gives them the power to continue staying inside the house." She evidently felt for the parent housemates and offered them hugs after they all went out the confession room. And when she saw that Mariel broke down by the pool, Annina even asked her if she could get her anything. Mariel was grateful for the offer but told Annina she wanted to be alone for awhile.

Around 12 o'clock, the housemates were called into confession room. Apparently, Big Brother prepared a surprise Noche Buena for them. It was indeed a surprise because the Noche Buena they were going to have were food that came from their families and loved ones in the outside world. However, these were set on floaters in the swimming pool. The housemates had to swim into the cold water to fetch each of their food, though it wasn't such a big deal since they couldn't wait to get their hands and mouths on it. Wearing reindeer and poinsettia headdresses, they enjoyed the Christmas Eve by feasting over such delicious meals and fooling around the pool.

By the next morning, "Santa Claus" secretly entered the house and left presents under the housemates' Christmas tree. When the housemates woke up, they noticed these and wondered what were in store for them. Could it be more special presents from Big Brother and their loved ones? Keep watching PBB Double Up to find out!
