Agassi doubly proud of “AMIR”
 Having
drawn inspiration from the fans he met in the US
during the Kapamilya Summer Caravan, The Hunks’ Carlos
Agassi has come up with his third solo album titled Amir.
But what makes this album close to Carlos’ heart is
that besides singing and writing some of the songs, he also
executive produced it.
With supervision from hip-hop guru Gloc 9,
Carlos calls this album his baby. He oversaw everything –
from the songs, album cover, pictorials even the making of
the music video. “I learned so much in the process of
making an album. I poured my heart and soul into this project.
You can expect a more mature Carlos in ‘Amir’,
someone with much more substance. ” He also looks forward
to eventually being able to help produce albums for new artists.
Carlos describes his music in this album
as dance rap. With six tracks, three in English and three
in Tagalog, Carlos has collaborated with the finest R&B
and underground hip-hop artists to date. His first single
‘True’ features his brother Aaron and upcoming
singer Gayle Dizon. Other tracks include ‘Amir’,
‘Nagbago Ka’ featuring Gloc 9 and Gobas, ‘Senorita’
featuring Cherry Lou, ‘Alay Ko’ with Gloc 9 and
Mitchel plus the ‘Senorita Remix’ featuring Cherry
Lou, Gobas and Aaron.
Carlos also hopes that with this album, hip-hop
and R&B artists will have a chance to shine in the current
bands and ballads trend. “In the US hip-hop and R&B
artists are really big like Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Eminem, Sean
Paul and Beyonce. Hopefully with this album some of the artists
featured in my album become noticed because they are really
good performers.”
‘Amir’ was recently launched
on ASAP ’05 last October 23 and is distributed by Star
Records. Carlos will be having a series of concerts with the
Hunks on another US Tour in the next few days. Catch them
