Carlos Agassi makes his TV comeback
by Napoleon Quintos | September 26, 2008 9:09 AM |

It was a smiling and optimistic Carlos Agassi who arrived for the story conference of Komiks presents Mars Ravelo’s Dragonna. ABS-CBN.com caught up with the actor to talk about his newest project which also serves as his TV comeback vehicle. When asked about his hiatus from acting, Carlos replied, “Hindi naman talaga ako umalis bilang Kapamilya. Ngayon lang talaga ako nabigyan ng ABS-CBN ng project, so thank you! Sabi sa akin ng ABS-CBN, just wait kapag may magandang project for you. So I waited.”

Carlos was last seen on TV via the teleserye Princess Sarah. Despite the long wait, he added that he never thought of leaving ABS-CBN. “Dito ako nagsimula, dito na ako lumaki, kaming tatlong magkakapatid, so might as well dito na rin ako magwork kasi everyone has been like family na rin. Kapamilya nga ‘di ba, sina Mr. M (Johnny Manahan, head of Star Magic), the staff, pati ‘yung mga crew mga kaibigan ko ‘yang mga ‘yan. Magtatrabaho na rin lang ako, doon na sa magandang environment.” Before being cast in Dragonna, Carlos kept himself busy modeling for men’s undergarments and helping out in their family business. He also finished his Physical Therapy and Nutrition course.

This 28-year-old actor-rapper shot to fame as part of the now defunct male sexy group The Hunks with Piolo Pascual, Diether Ocampo, Jericho Rosales, and Bernard Palanca. When their days of singing and making girls scream ended, they all headed into different directions. Piolo is working on a Star Cinema anniversary offering, Diether currently stars in Iisa Pa Lamang with Claudine Barretto and Gabby Concepcion, while Jericho is in the new Asianovela Kahit Isang Saglit. Carlos told ABS-CBN.com that he is not envious over his friends’ continuing success and is happy with whatever plans the Kapamilya network has for him, “I’m very happy for them. I always pray for them. Sana lahat ng shows namin mag-rate para lahat tayo masaya (cheers). Nagkikita-kita kami recently. Puro kulitan, parang walang nagbago. Hindi na nga lang kami nagkakasama like before. Ngayon kapag nagkikita kami, parang cockfight dahil sa sobra naming na-miss ang isa’t isa.”

Dragonna will be the next chapter of Komiks following Tiny Tony. Keep checking www.ABS-CBN.com for updates on Komiks presents Mars Ravelo’s Dragonna.
