Rafael Rosell has the enviable distinction of having worked with teleserye queens Claudine Barretto and Judy Ann Santos, the former in the sineserye Maligno and the later in the upcoming teleserye Humingi Ako Sa Langit. ABS-CBN.com spoke with Rafael during the cast pictorial for Humingi Ako Sa Langit where the actor talked about the privilege of working with the two young superstars of this generation.

“It’s an honor to be working with big stars. They are very respectful sa mga kasama nila sa set. Judai and Claudine are very nice to me. It’s easy to be comfortable sa set because of them, nakaka-arte ka ng maayos kapag kasama mo sila gaganahan ka magtrabaho kasi sina Judai at Claudine ‘yan e,” he told ABS-CBN.com in an exclusive interview.

Rumors of a rivalry between the two actresses have brought up time and again so ABS-CBN.com asked Rafael about his two leading ladies. “They are very career-oriented. They are focused on their work. Pagdating sa script at sa set, prepared. Masaya sila, laging nag-e-enjoy. They prove that if you love what you do you don’t have to work ever again. You don’t think of work as work. Nakakatanggal ng pagod at ng puyat kasi you just enjoy what you do.”

Rafael first became leading man to Claudine in the groundbreaking fantaserye Marina, while he got to work with Judy Ann in Komiks presents: Inday Bote. While he works with seasoned actors, he’s more than capable of performing at par with them, having won the Urian Best Supporting Actor award last year for the film Rome and Juliet. Rafael went on to share some things she learned from Judai and Claudine. “They inspire me to just work, work, work! Isa pang natutunan ko sa kanila, once you’re done with the character or with the scene, get out. Sa Maligno kasi hindi ko masyado nagawa ‘yun. Minsan ‘yung character dinadala ko pa sa bahay.”
