Edu Manzano wears many hats, working as an actor, TV host, recording artist, and chairman of the Optical Media Board. He is also known as one of the finest gentlemen in showbiz. As “Chairman Edu” looks forward to celebrating his 53rd birthday on September 15, he sheds some light on his romantic status.

“I have a very wonderful woman who takes very good care of me. Hindi na siguro ako dapat maging laman pa ng mga columns by our friends in the entertainment press. I’m just enjoying what’s left in my life,” he tells reporters without naming the woman. Edu has been linked for quite some time now to his Umagang Kay Ganda co-host and ABS-CBN news anchor Pinky Webb. The two have yet to confirm if they are indeed going out, although both Edu and Pinky have been vocal about being good friends and colleagues.

Edu has two other children apart from his eldest son Luis Manzano. Being a father poses some setbacks when it comes to dating, but Edu feels blessed to have found a balance between his duties as a father and his personal life. “Okay naman siya sa mga anak ko. I guess para makasundo ko dapat meron din siyang mga qualities na katanggap-tanggap. Dapat she must have a very good sense of humor para mas maging magaan para sa mga anak ko.”

But the big question now is if Edu sees this woman in his life as The One? Looking at his failed relationships in the past, the actor-TV host still keeps his optimistic view on love. “My heart has been broken in the past. Dati akala ko ‘yun na. Pero ngayon umaasa na lang ako. You should take one day at a time. I have been blessed with many ladies who have been part of my life. Because of my moments with them I have become very enriched in so many ways. My point of view is ‘be the best of what you are, and the best will come true.”`
