MANILA -- Akbayan Party List Representative Chel Diokno slammed on Thursday Vice President Sara Duterte&#x27;s remark that she is ready to assume the presidency if President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. resigns.Diokno said Duterte&#x27;s statement is &quot;uncalled for&quot; and what they seek is accountability over alleged corruption in the government.“Sa tingin ko uncalled for ‘yung ganoong klaseng pronouncements dahil mas nagiging divisive pa nga ang sitwasyon pagkaganoon… wala pa naman tayo sa ganoong klaseng sitwasyon,” he explained.“Ngayon, kailangang tugunan ng ating pamahalaaan whether it&#x27;s the president, the vice-president o kung sinumang mga kampo na &#x27;yan ay malaman &#x27;yung katotohanan dito sa mga infra projects at magkaroon ng pananagutan. Ramdam na ramdam nating lahat ang sigaw ng bayan na magkaroon ng accountability, &#x27;yun ang dapat focus sana ng buong pamahalaan,” Diokno added.Meanwhile, for Lanao del Sur 1st District Representative Zia Alonto Adiong, claims linking the president to alleged budget insertions is “far-fetched.&quot;“It&#x27;s far-fetched to even include the President in the issue of the insertion because the president actually did not sit in the bicam… And makikita po na naman natin the President actually vetoed some of the provisions in the GAA,” he said.“I don&#x27;t know where all these noise come from. Kasi unang-una, ang Presidente ang nagsimula nito, he started exposing all of these troubles involving the flood control. At nakikita naman natin may progress in the ICI investigation. Nakita naman natin may mga filing of cases… may hindi lang mga employees ng DPWH but even some whose names have also came out na medyo malalaki din. May mga weight din sa ating gbyerno. So, I think the President when he came out with this revelation during the SONA, he is up to finish this until the end,” Adiong added.
