<p>The Estée Lauder Companies’ (ELC) Breast Cancer Campaign, founded by Evelyn H. Lauder,  is a global movement against the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer that affects both men and women. This year’s efforts are entitled “Beautifully United to Help End Breast Cancer”.</p><div><br/></div><p>October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ELC Philippines is continuously putting the spotlight on the campaign with various events. These gatherings help spread awareness, along with making help more accessible. The Breast Cancer Campaign also holds on-the-ground activations while funding research of its partner organizations. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img loading="lazy" src="https://assets-metrostyle.abs-cbn.com/prod/metrostyle/attachments/355ff0d9-d572-4624-ac22-5bd7fbd3d4ea_wil_9300.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt=""/></span></span></div><p>One of the many efforts for campaign this month was an event specifically for the press held at Mega Fashion Hall. Hosted by Issa Litton, the event was focused on drawing attention to breast cancer for the social media crowd using the hashtag #TimetoEndBreastCancer.</p><div><br/></div><p>The event offered breast cancer talks by  Dr. Bernice Navarro who serves as the Head of Outpatient Services at St. Luke’s Medical Center BGC and  Ms Susan Afan who is the president of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation. Dr. Lourdes Gozali shared her insight as a breast cancer survivor as well. There were also booths for free breast examinations, not just for guests but also for all mall goers. </p><div><br/></div><p>One of the highlights of the event were the remarks made by Steven Tan, President of SM Supermalls, who’s own mother is a breast cancer survivor. He spoke about how ELC’s campaign goes hand-in-hand with the social responsibility efforts of SM Supermalls. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img loading="lazy" src="https://assets-metrostyle.abs-cbn.com/prod/metrostyle/attachments/75df70a8-33a3-47b6-b3a3-d4501d843d8e_dsc_1428.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt=""/></span></span></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img loading="lazy" src="https://assets-metrostyle.abs-cbn.com/prod/metrostyle/attachments/e12d2774-6dca-48ac-89f9-b47448097b39_wil_9396.jpeg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt=""/></span></span></div><p>ELC further takes advantage of October with initiatives with iCanServe Foundation and Kasuso Foundation. There is also The Breast Cancer Campaign Education Roadshow, where doctors are invited to conduct talks to all ELC and business partner employees.</p><div><br/></div><p>The city will also be turning pink, as ELC partners with SM Supermalls and MegaWorld Uptown Bonifacio by lighting their malls in pink on select dates and continuously showing campaign assets through various digital screens across the country.</p><div><br/></div><p>Similar activations are done all over the world by ELC, from Japan to the Middle East, and from the UK to Brazil. Moreover, The Breast Cancer Campaign and The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation have funded more than $118 million for research, education, medical services in the past 30 years.
