How to Pull Off the Very Peri Trend, According to a Pro Makeup Artist

The color of the year may just be the thing you need to add more fun into your makeup look!

<p>In 2022, we&#x27;ve decided that we&#x27;re stepping out of our comfort zones and injecting way more fun into our lives—staying at home or not! How timely that Pantone&#x27;s color of the year happens to be a very fun hue—&#x27;<strong>Very Peri</strong>&#x27;. It&#x27;s described as &#x27;a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red.&#x27;</p><div><br/></div><p>While it&#x27;s not a typical shade we&#x27;d often incorporate into our makeup looks, it sure can spice things up where needed. Either through an eyeshadow, an eyeliner or even a lipstick! To help us get started on our Very Peri makeup projects, we asked professional makeup artist <strong>Chuchie Ledesma</strong> to help us break it down. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Related Story: </strong><a href="/beauty/body/2022-beauty-trends-and-beauty-resolutions/32075" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">2022 Beauty Trends &amp; Beauty Insider Resolutions</a></div><p>If you&#x27;re thinking of rocking it for a post-holiday get together online and want to make things fun on-screen, try using it on your eyes. &#x27;Use the color as an eyeliner instead of a full eyeshadow, or simply apply a subtle wash of Very Peri eyeshadow onto your eyelids for a quick trip down &#x27;90s memory lane. Make sure to curl your lashes and apply coats if mascara for definition&#x27;, Chuchie shares. </p><div><br/></div><p>As for the lips? Chuchie tells us to &#x27;complete the &#x27;90s look with a baby pink lipstick. A MLBB lip color (peach, salmon, or mauve) would also be your best bet for when you want go for the classy look with a pop of color.&#x27; If you want to go Very Peri on your lips, we suggest matching it with a neutral, smokey brown eye, and a peach cheek—this is how we&#x27;d do it! </p><div><br/></div><p>Ready to rock your new look for 2022?
