Kung maalala mo noon, talagang ang kamatis halos itinatambak na lang,&quot; ani Laguna Provincial Agriculture head Marlon Tobias. </p><p>Nakaapekto rin umano ang pabago-bagong klima. </p><p>Pero daing ng magkakamatis, masyadong mataas ang kapital sa pagtatanim dahil sa taas ng presyo ng mga farm input kaya marami umano ang tumigil na magtanim. </p><p>Ngayon, maraming magsasaka na ang nagtanim ng sayote dahil sa takot malugi sa kamatis, sapagkat hindi maselang alagaan at maliit lang ang kapital.</p><p>&quot;Madalang na po nagtanim kasi sa sobrang laking kapital po kailangan. Ang mahal po ng mga pang-inputs, abono po, sa maintenance. Mahal na rin po ng labor,&quot; sabi ng magsasakang si Dario Coronado. <br/> <br/>Pero ang problema, nagaroon ng oversupply at bumagsak ang presyo kada kilo nito sa P4 hanggang P6. </p><p>Umapela ang mga magsasaka na gawan ito ng paraan ng gobyerno para mapababa ang presyo ng mga abono at gamot. </p><div><strong>-- Ulat ni Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News</strong></div>

Tumaas na nang nasa P70 kada kilo ang presyo ng kamatis sa mga palengke sa Metro Manila dahil sa kakulangan ng suplay.
