<div><strong>Celebrate friendship in the Korean Film Festival 2024</strong><br/></div><p>In celebration of the 75th year of friendship between South Korea and the Philippines, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines is hosting the 2024 Korean Film Festival.</p><div><br/></div><p>The festival for this milestone anniversary is titled “<strong>Chingu Kita!</strong>” or “You are my friend” and it will feature five films that highlight friendship.</p><div><br/></div><p>First on their lineup is the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards’ best film <strong><em>Smugglers</em></strong>, an action-packed movie about trust and survival. South Korean action crime thriller film “<strong>I, The Executioner</strong>” is now showing in cinemas.</p><div><br/></div><p>It follows veteran detective Seo Do Cheol, played by <strong>Hwang Ju Min</strong>, and his team at Major Crimes unit as they join forces with rookie cop Park Sun Woo (<strong>Jung Hae In</strong>) to track down a serial killer.</p><div><br/></div><p>This film earned praises from international film critics after its world premiere in Cannes’ Midnight Screening section in May. It has also been shown at the Special Presentations section of the 49th Toronto International Film Festival this month.</p><div><br/></div><p>Multi-awarded director <strong>Ryoo Seung Wan</strong> is hailed for bringing back to the big screen Detective Seo Do Cheol whose story is the subject of 2015 film <em>Veteran</em>.
