synopsis
Rivals (Magkaribal) is a story of two poor sisters who dream of one day making it big in the illustrious world of high fashion. Armed with a worn and beat-up sewing machine and the skill their mother taught them, they design and produce the most fabulous creations. With their sheer, raw talent, they were ready to conquer the world.
But tragedy strikes when their mother is accidentally killed by the mistress of their estranged father. The two sisters, Anna, 15 and Angela, 5, wander the streets to survive. Their only source of strength was the sketch book filled with their dead mother’s designs. Fallen to misfortune, Anna promises her sister that they will continue their mother’s legacy by breathing life into the sketches she left behind.
